WHY IS IT WORTH FOLLOWING?

Every north London derby is worth watching and the fact that this particular meeting comes in a cup competition makes it all the more intriguing with both clubs targeting silverware. For Mauricio Pochettino's men, the League Cup represents an opportunity for glory, while Arsene Wenger will have to decide whether he plays a young team or his strongest possible line up. Surely he will go with the latter? It would be a brave decision not to do so.

TEAM NEWS

Arsenal with be without midfielder Francis Coquelin because of a knee injury. Centre-back Per Mertesacker is available again following illness, but Brazilian defender Gabriel and midfielder Santi Cazorla are suspended after they were sent off in the Premier League match at Chelsea on Saturday.
Manager Arsene Wenger is expected to rotate his squad, with the likes of youngsters Alex Iwobi and Glen Kamara likely to be included. Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino will be without a trio of key midfielders. Ryan Mason (knee), Nabil Bentaleb (ankle) and Mousa Dembele (foot) have all been ruled out by Pochettino - who is likely to alter his line-up substantially from that which won 1-0 against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Harry Kane could keep his place as the England striker goes in search of his first club goal of the campaign while the likes of Harry Winks and Clinton Njie will be hoping for their maiden starts.

MANAGER QUOTES

Arsene Wenger: "It's true that we played the last two games with 10 men in the second half and I hope we play the next one with 11 v 11. But it's another derby and that's not guaranteed as well."
Mauricio Pochettino: "I respect (Arsene). He’s a great manager. I admire him because he’s in charge for maybe 18 years or 19 years, and he has real talent. It’s not easy to stay at the same club for a long time. Every single game that you play you want to win but especially this one. It is a bit more special because it's always a big meaning. We want to get back into winning habits and that's why the momentum is even more important for us."
